Wellness While You Work

As temperatures rise and days become longer, it’s a great time to incorporate new employee wellness programs into your practice.

Workplace “Wellness Challenges” have become popular and are a fun way to promote health and happiness among your employees.

Challenges can last anywhere from one week to one month or longer, and are focused on improving the heath of the practice as a whole.  Efforts put forth can even be rewarded with an incentive or prize for the winning employee or team, but the real reward lies in the health benefits everyone will receive.

Some ideas to get your practice on a Wellness kick include:

Sleeping Challenge:  A point rewarded for every day one sleeps a minimum of 7 hours a night.

Meditation Challenge:  A point rewarded for every day a minimum of 10-meditation is performed.  For meditation novices, apps such as Headspace can easily be downloaded to any smartphone.

Water Challenge:  A point rewarded for drinking a minimum of 32 oz. of water at work a day.

Walking Challenge:  A point rewarded for walking the recommended minimum of 10,000 steps a day.

Nutrition Challenge:  A point rewarded for every serving of fruit or vegetable consumed throughout the day.
